Mathilda Muk (| Vesa, 1995) is a Helsinki based dancer | performer | dance teacher | dance artist. She graduated from Theatre Academy, Uniarts Helsinki's Dance Performance Master's Programme in summer 2025. Before Teak Mathilda did her Bachelor's Degree in Dance Education (2019) at Turku University of Applied Sciences (Arts Academy).
Mathilda considers herself as multipassionate and has varying interest towards different disciplines and practices in the field of art. At the moment Mathilda is especially interested in viewing (| tarkastella) ways of working. Learning, unlearning and relearning are some of the keywords that have stayed with her for a longer period of time.
In recent years she has worked as a freelance dancer in different projects. The latest being MeTässä performance for Routa company by Sari Palmgren. In 2021 Mathilda did Bodies with Kristina Norri Seuranen and Eerika Kraft, funded by The Finnish Cultural Foundation (Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, Pirkanmaa) and City of Helsinki. Mathilda has also danced and been a part of a Helsinki based contemporary dance and modern ballet company Kielo Dance Company. Their HUMAN2020 triple bill performance premiered in September 2021 at Aleksanterin teatteri, Helsinki.
Mathilda develops her skills participating actively in professional classes and workshops. She is especially interested in contemporary dance and the endless possibilities it has to offer and loves exploring movement through improvisation. She has also a strong background in jazz dance and experience in show, commercial and street dances as well as ballet and dancing in heels. She is enthusiastic to dive in to different roles in the dance field and considers her versatility and broad interest as her strong suit.
Mathilda has been working as a dance teacher since 2019. She teaches mainly contemporary dance from beginners to advanced - kids to adults. As a dance teacher, she is passionated to help and guide her students to improve themselves as dancers and find their highest potential in a positive and encouraging way.
